Texas Licensing Information

Under no circumstance should an associate contact any government agency regarding licensing procedures or any issue regarding LegalShield. LegalShield works very closely with government officials; any contact other than from previously established channels at Corporate causes unnecessary strain on good relationships and can even jeopardize our standing. If you have any questions about licensing, please contact us at the LegalShield Licensing Department for assistance.

To obtain a Texas license, apply online with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation at www.license.state.tx.us and complete the steps listed below.

Residents and Non-Residents

  1. Apply online with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation at www.license.state.tx.us and pay the $20 fee.
  2. Within about 72 hours after applying online, revisit www.license.state.tx.us to find your name and license number (under the search option).
  3. You can either take a screen shot of the web page showing your name and license number, OR print the page which shows it and submit a copy - along with your name and LegalShield Associate number to:

LegalShield Licensing Department

If you have been convicted of a felony, you will need to complete the attached Criminal History Questionnaire. If you had an occupational license revoked, suspended or denied, you will need to complete the attached Disciplinary Action Questionnaire.

Note: Canadian residents must apply by paper application. To obtain the paper application, go to Associates Only, click on Resources then on Docs On Demand. Under the license section, click on Texas License Application Packet to download and print the Texas application or contact the LegalShield Licensing Department.
